Information Technology

Dear Students,

As you know, our Reading in class today was about Information Technology. We did the True/False questions and the Comprehension questions in class.

1- Our discussion here will be related to what we have done in class today. Read the following TWO statements and say whether you Agree, Disagree with them, or Not Sure about them. You also need to mention the reason for your choice.

Statement One: Life was easier without technology.

Statement Two: People who use the Internet know more than people who do not.

2- REMEMBER, we have a QUIZ on Wednesday, 19/05/2010 during our regular class time. The quiz is on reading. Please make sure that you study the Preliminary Unit of the Reading book (Pages: 2 - 40). The questions could include: Identifying the word type (noun, verb, adjective, adverb, etc.), True/False Questions, Finding the main ideas, and making inferences. If you have any question on the quiz please do not hesitate to ask here or by email.

3- You could post the answers of the questions on Main ideas on page 53-54, but you don't have to, because we will discuss them in class on Monday next week.

Yours,

Mohamed

The Pressures of being a student

Dear Students,

In the last lesson we started writing a Five-Paragraph essay on the pressures of being a student.

You can do some research before you write your Introductions. Here are some useful resources for you to read:

Objective of this exercise (in ABCD): After discussing all main points related to the pressures of being a student in class and reading about it on the Internet (Condition) Students in my English Course 101 (Audience) will write a five-paragraph essay about the pressures of being a student (Behavior) with 100% accuracy in text organization, use of Vocabulary, Transition, Grammar and Punctuation, in one post on the class blog and a comment on another classmate's essay (Degree).

If you want to see how I assess your essays, please see the rubric for this exercise here.
